Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Oria SMP ("Oria," "we," "us") is an independently owned and operated Minecraft community server and website (oriamc.com), operated by Adam. For any privacy question or request, contact [email protected] or +1 404-493-6963.

2. Information We Collect

Whitelist applications. When you apply at oriamc.com/apply we collect your Minecraft username (IGN), Discord username, age, and your answers about how you like to play. Your IGN is checked against Mojang's public API to confirm it exists.

Account linking. If you link your Discord account (for whitelisting, the support page, or username migration), we store your Discord user ID and username together with your Minecraft username. Logging in with Discord uses Discord's OAuth2; we receive only your basic public profile (ID, username, avatar) — never your Discord password or messages.

Gameplay data. Like virtually all Minecraft servers, our game server automatically records connection logs (including your IP address and Minecraft UUID), in-game chat, and a technical audit log of in-game actions (such as blocks placed and broken). This data exists to keep the server secure, fair, and grief-free.

Chat bridging. In-game chat is bridged to our Discord server, and Discord messages in bridge channels are relayed in-game. Anything you say in bridged chat is visible in both places.

Payments. Voluntary tips and support payments are processed by PayPal and Stripe. Your card or bank details go directly to those processors and never touch our servers. We receive and keep only the transaction reference, amount, date, and the Discord/Minecraft identity the payment is associated with.

Website basics. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, pages requested, browser type). The support page uses a session cookie strictly to keep you logged in; we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

3. How We Use Information

We do not sell personal information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of processors to run Oria: Discord (community, account linking via OAuth2), PayPal and Stripe (payment processing), OVH (server hosting, located in Canada), Cloudflare (email routing), and Google Fonts (webfonts; your browser requests the font files from Google when loading our pages). Each handles your data under its own privacy policy.

5. Data Retention

Server logs, the gameplay audit log, and moderation records are retained while the server operates, because they are what allows us to investigate and reverse griefing or cheating — including incidents discovered long after they happen. Payment records are kept as required for accounting. Whitelist application data is kept while your application or membership is active.

6. Your Rights

You can ask us at any time to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email [email protected] from a way we can verify (e.g. your linked Discord). We will honor deletion requests except where we have a legitimate need to retain specific records, such as ban and moderation history needed to enforce our rules, or payment records we must keep for accounting.

7. Age Requirement

Oria is an 18+ community. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that an applicant or player is under 18, we remove their access and delete their application data.

8. International Note

Our game and web servers are hosted in Canada and the service is operated from the United States. By playing on Oria you understand your data is processed in those locations.

9. Changes to This Policy
